Does electrolysis remove hair permanently?
Yes, electrolysis is considered the only FDA and AMA approved form of permanent hair removal. It works by the insertion of a needle-like probe into the follicle and applying an electric current to destroy the hair. This prevents the hair from growing back and over time the treated area becomes smooth and hair free.
However, electrolysis can be time consuming because we are treating each individual hair. Multiple sessions are needed and based on the coarsness and density of the area, which is usually determined during the consultation.

What are the side effects of Electrolysis?
Post-treatment includes redness (erythema) and bumpiness. This is completely normal and will usually subside after a few hours. For some, the redness can last longer.
We recommend you:
-Avoid using makeup or creams that could irritate the skin.
-Keep area dry and avoid excessive sweating.
-Avoid sun exposure
-Avoid touching or picking at the skin
-Use SPF

How long does it take?
There are many factors that go into being hair free- permanently. Density, coarseness, and sensitivity are all factors that will determine how long your treatment will be. We usually tell people anywhere from 6-12 months.
