How long does it take?
Coarseness and Density are the biggest key factors that determine the length of time it would take to be completely hair free. But once it’s gone, it will not come back.
The amount of treatments it takes to completely remove hair via electrolysis has a vast variety. It is dependent on how thick and coarse the hair is. The more hair, the longer it will take. When we use the most effective modality of electrolysis, “The Blend Method”, it takes much longer because we are treating the hair for 6-8 seconds at a time. During this, an electrochemical reaction happens in the follicle. A caustic lye is formed to create sodium hydroxide (NaOH). This lye continues to stay in the follicle after treatment and helps to destroy growth-promoting cells.
People usually see a difference within the first couple of months of treatments. Hair thins out and if a follicle has been treated but still producing hair, it will come in finer and lighter.
Another factor that goes into the time of treatment is the hair growth cycle. The average HAIR CYCLE treated by electrolysis is 2 months. That means the regrowth in one session won’t be seen until 2 months after the initial treatment.
However, if there is a hormone imbalance, then we are dealing with androgenic-fueled follicles and it will take longer to treat the facial hair caused by hormones. Please reach out to Jill if you need a recommendation.
